Suddenly i feel my bloggie is getting a tad boring without pictures for so long.
Eh! But wait hor....i know my UK trip photos are taking way longer. I haven't been able to finish it.
But it'll come out lar. I wanna put it up nicely. Been too busy lately with work and studies and extra load at work to bring home..haiz...
Please be more patient ok.. i still have tons of pictures from other trips haven't put up yet.
Let me finish this really hectic year and the pictures will be out! =)

Meanwhile... make to do with randomised pictures!

Attended my bro's graduation on the 28th Aug...

The graduation ceremony hall at SIM

Went out with my bunch of lao peng you, old old besties of mine on my bday.
We had japanese buffet at a restaurant. Sashimi was nice and the rest was..erm..so-so.
After that i call upon my buddy aka my ahmad(driver =p ) and he brought all of us to Mt Faber where we had some *ahem...alcoholic drinks. The ambiance was nice with some live music going on. We had a good view of SG's night scene from the top.

My drink... looks romantic with the candle "lights"

Open air sitting...

TCC's tiramisu! Mmmmm...nice! And the one further away is Dark Devotion - Chocolate foudant cake which is utterly sinfully nice. =) I'm in love with tcc's food.

My cakey ventures. As I don't own an oven, I find alternative ways to make cakes. Hehee
After the steamed chocolate cake, I decided to do some other variations! I do these experimentations whenever i'm stressed! A very good stress reliever.
My guinea pigs (you know who you are!) are not complaining either as they love to eat.
But my bro remains as my main guinea pig cos he's picky and has sensitive taste buds.

Steamed banana cupcakes!
Got several requests to make this again and again from my colleagues. =)
This one passed my taste test. And bro's taste buds too! hehee.
Verdict: Very very nice!

Steamed mango cupcakes!
With real bits of mango inside. My parents loved this one alot.
But somehow i'm not very satisfied with this one...its nice but but..something's missing.
My parents say nothing's wrong its very nice and fragrant but i think can improve more =)
My dad chowed down my bro's share so my bro didnt get to eat haha.
Verdict: Nice and fragrant but can be improved.

I did another one using pumpkin. Cos my mum bought a bunch of pumpkins and didn't know what to deal with it so she chuck it to me to make more cupcakes for her to eat.
I warned her that it may not turn out nice cos i'm not sure how to adjust the recipe to accommodate to the dense nature of pumpkin...so i just agar agar...
I didn't managed to take a picture of it. But it looks similar to the mango one...cos pumpkin also yellow yellow one.
Taste wise, like custard with slight pumpkin flavour... the pumpkin didn't have a strong flavour but somehow it tastes like a really nice custard cupcake! Even my picky bro also likes it.
My mum loves it too. She wanted to buy her favourite yam and sweet potato next time.... *faint...

Chocolate cupcake!

This is a totally different recipe from the steamed chocolate cake that i made last time.
And guess what, this is not steamed.
Not baked.
This might come as a surprise to most of you...its.....
MICROWAVED!
Yes... microwave chocolate cupcakes.
I found the recipe online and did experiment with it.
Modified the recipe and made very very small batch...cos i'm not sure whether it'll work or not.
As it was just an experiement, i didn't bother to even out the surface when I poured the batter into the cupcake holder. So its ugly looking heheee..
I thought it would surely fail but it turned out really good for a microwaved version.
I was expecting a rock lor.. cos microwave tends to dry out food.
My mum tried to reheat some buns using microwave and they became rocks instead.
But this turned out soft and nice. Its slightly drier than the steamed moist chocolate cake but still quite nice. Comparing the taste, the steamed version wins lar but this microwaved one also not bad.

The amazing part is that this muffin takes 5mins to mix and less than 2mins of microwave time.
No eggs are used for this version although most online recipes calls for it.
My bro was my guinea pig and even though he said its not as nice as the steamed version, he still chowed down everything. So I had none left for my other guinea pigs like tohko and ah sing!
Verdict: Bro says its very nice for a microwaved cupcake.

I'd experiment with other stuffs when i get my bday gift =P heheeee

Meanwhile..its back to the books. Exams are creeping nearer and nearer.
